St. Louis Convent Owo is the second community= of the SSL in the then Western Nigeria in November 1952. The pioneer Sisters were SRS= : M. Finian Cullen and M. Winifred Egan [R.I.P]. = By December, the same year Sr. M. Ancilla Fox join= ed the community. These sisters started the hospital and it continued to grow as m= ore sisters and doctors joined them to improve the quality of health care deliv= ery in the area and bring love to the marginalized in the e= nviron.

By January, 1955, a Secondary Modern School was establis= hed for girls and Sr. M. Cleophas was the first Sis= ter to join the staff of the School. Also the Grade 3 Teachers Training College began in Ja= nuary 1955, many of our Sisters were assigned to work in the= two institutions. The Grade 3 was discontinued in 1963, and St. Louis Grammar S= chool was established with the aim of educating young girls and spreading the good news. The first Principal was, Sr. M. Michael Hughes with Sisters. M. Roberta, Maud, Osmund on the s= taff.

The modern school however, was closed in 1968= due to shortage of personnel. The grammar School was taken over by the Governme= nt in 1975. Ever since then the Sisters presence continued to be felt in the school till date. In 1992, a Parish Primary School was = opened and the SSL were requested to take over its administration. The Sisters accepted and it became St. Lou= is Nursery Primary which now has almost Six Hundred Pupils, we are there till date.

&mi= ddot;      =   St. Louis Hospital became famous and patients came all over the then Ondo= Province.

&mi= ddot;      =   A midwifery= School was established in 1956, an= d many maternity centres were opened to take care of t= he health needs of the people in the villages.
